How to Restore Parquet Wood Floors

Parquet flooring, with its intricate patterns and timeless appeal, can add a touch of elegance to any home. However, years of foot traffic and exposure to the elements can dull its shine. Fortunately, with the right care and restoration techniques, you can revive your parquet floor's original beauty.

Revive Your Wood's Natural Beauty

GK Wood Restorer is a powerful yet gentle solution that has been specially designed to restore the natural beauty of weathered wood, effortlessly bringing it back to its former brilliance. This versatile product caters to both internal and external timber, ensuring a safe application on joints without compromising adhesives.

How Does it Work?

GK Wood Restorer removes dirt and grime, and combats the effects of UV damage, restoring the wood's natural colour. Simply apply the solution to damp wood, leave it for half an hour to work its magic, and then rinse. There are no harsh chemicals or complicated processes involved.

Plus, with a neutral pH of 7, it's safe for various surfaces, including delicate woods. Its biodegradable formula minimises environmental impact, making GK Wood Restorer the eco-friendly choice for restoring your wooden floors, surfaces and furniture.

Key Benefits:

  • Restoration and Protection: Effortlessly restores wood to its natural tones, eliminating greying caused by UV and weathering. Suitable for both internal and external timber.
  • Versatile Application: Ideal for various wooden surfaces, including windows, sheds, fences, decking, doors, parquet floors and furniture. The formula is safe on joints, preserving adhesives.
  • Fast-Acting and Quick Drying: Ensures efficient cleaning with a rapid drying process, allowing treated surfaces to be painted or treated once dry.
  • Ease of Application: Conveniently applied along damp wood grain using a brush, spray, or roller. Can cover an average of 4-5m² per litre on application. To prevent drying, it is recommended to work on 2m lengths at a time.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Biodegradable and low-odour characteristics contribute to an eco-friendly cleaning solution - neutral pH of 7.

How to Use:

Preparation: Before applying GK Wood Restorer™, conduct a small test on a discrete surface to assess compatibility and performance. This precautionary step ensures the suitability of the product for the entire area. Prior to application, dampen the timber without saturating it.

Application: GK Wood Restorer comes ready to use - do not dilute. Generously apply the solution along the wood grain using a brush, spray, or roller, ensuring all exposed sides are covered. Work on 2-meter lengths to prevent product drying. Rehydrate with more product if it begins to dry.

Drying: Allow the product to work for 30 minutes.

Finish: Afterward, vigorously agitate with a stiff, non-metal brush dampened with water. Thoroughly rinse to remove any residue. Repeat the process, if necessary, until the wood appears bright and clean. The treated wood is now ready for sanding and the application of preservative treatments to mitigate further UV or weather damage.

Tips for Optimal Results

Test in an Inconspicuous Area: Before applying the product to the entire surface, test it on a small, inconspicuous area to ensure desired results.

Avoid Direct Sunlight: Apply the product in shaded areas to prevent it from drying too quickly.

Protect Treated Wood: After restoration, consider applying a protective wood sealant such as GK Invisible Wood Sealer or paint to prolong the results.

Summary

By using GK Wood Restorer, you can breathe new life into your weathered wood surfaces, restoring your parquet floors to their former charm and glory. Our easy to use formula provides exceptional results in just half an hour of application.
